For dim sum, my family has gone to Jing Fong for decades, back in their original location on Elizabeth Street across from the NYPD precinct. For Chinese food, Big Wong (on Mott Street across the street from the Buddhist temple) is a place that my family has gone to many times (their won ton noodle soup is really good). They accept cash only.Ĭhinatown is very touristy now (actually has been touristy for a lot of years), with lots of sellers both overt and covert, selling fake knockoffs. John Barr (Youtuber who does NYC videos) says that Bleeker Street Pizza is one of his favorite.Another historic location would be Lombardi's Pizza at 32 Spring Street (very close to Chinatown and Little Italy). My wife loves their Nonna Maria pizza (margherita pizza made with marinara sauce). A block away at 5th Ave and 23rd Street is Eataly, which is also across the street from Madison Square Park, which is the home to the original Shake Shack.įor pizza, Bleeker Street Pizza is excellent (where 7th Ave crosses Bleeker Street in Greenwich Village). If you're into Harry Potter, you can go to the Harry Potter store at 935 Broadway (at 22nd Street). While it still has some Pokemon stuff, the store is predominantly centered around Nintendo. The Pokemon Center in Rockefeller Center was actually closed a number of years ago and reopened as the Nintendo Store now. We always drive, but then park our car once and then travel either by train or on foot. We used to go at least once a month, but more recently we have only gone maybe once every couple of months. We actually go into the city quite often.
